Philanthropy

Dr. Abedi's philanthropic efforts began while she was in fourth-year medical school working with the International Medical Relief medical organization that provides mobile medical clinics and sustainable health education to underserved communities in 40 countries around the world. As a student, she joined a medical mission in Haiti, serving the underprivileged and establishing various community outreach programs so that people are inspired to provide for their own health.

Later in her internship year of residency, Dr. Abedi contributed to the establishment of Clear Water projects to Kenya which strives to improve health by providing access to household filtration. The organization’s purpose is to provide a development solution rather than merely a relief solution. Her Kenyan charity work has been one of her most exhilarating and rewarding experiences.
